Chestnut Cottage, recently refurbished and located in a quiet valley not far from the coast and the village of Slapton in South Devon is part of Buckland Court. Located deep in delightful South Hams countryside, this ground floor cottage is close to Slapton Ley, a world famous nature reserve, a 3 mile beach and several excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within 15 minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Buckland Court is well situated for a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits including golf. A gate from the courtyard opens out to a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acres) including a large pond populated by ducks. There is a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games and a children’s adventure playhouse on stilts with a slide and swings and a pool table/tennis table in the laundry room for those rainy days.
The cottages are very comfortable and well furnished and set around a pretty courtyard with summer hanging baskets and benches. The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have central heating, a gas fire in the living area and are equipped with iron and ironing board. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, dryer and freezer. Water is supplied through filtered and tested borehole water.
Great news if you just want to get away for a long weekend or short break. Chestnut Cottage accepts bookings for short breaks. So if you fancy a few days in Devon to recharge your batteries then this cottage is well worth consideration.
If you have a dog and you want to bring them with you on your holiday in Devon then... Great news! Chestnut Cottage welcomes dogs. Often cottage owners have some restrictions on where your dog can roam in the property and there may be a small extra charge. However, there is no reason why your pet needs to miss out on the family holiday.

Front door into small hallway that leads into a spacious very comfortable living room with two sofas, gas fire, TV with video/DVD player, plenty of books and dining table to seat 4. The kitchen area is well equipped and has a gas hob with electric oven, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. The comfortable bedroom has twin 3ft beds and attractive pine furniture. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, WC and over-bath clothes dryer.
