The central location of the cottage enables guests to access the moor immediately from its doorstep. This beautiful barn conversion enjoys the rustic exterior of a traditional Dartmoor building with the benefits of a modern, light and airy internal layout which will appeal to both couples and families alike. With its own private terrace for alfresco dining, and a cosy woodburning stove in the lounge area, Swallow Cottage is the perfect holiday retreat whatever time of year and whatever the weather! The property is set alongside a small country house hotel in the picturesque hamlet of Postbridge and guests are welcome to use the facilities, including restaurant, bar, external terrace with views, swimming in the beautiful wild swimming spot (complete with picnic table and parasol next to the water) and access to the 36 acres of private grounds. If you are wishing to hire bicycles during your stay, the owners have an affiliation with a bike hire company so please contact us for further information on this. Postbridge, with its legendary 12thcentury clapper bridge and a National Park Visitors Centre, provides superb walking for all abilities. The many local traditional pubs and tearooms provide a great way to finish a good days rambling or fishing with the offer of freshly cooked meals or a cream tea. The local area provides horse riding and fishing opportunities as well as the chance to visit the nearby ancient settlement of Grimspound.
