More about Vicarage Cottage

This enchanting and delightful, detached carrstone cottage is situated in an idyllic location on a no-through road opposite the church, just outside the main entrance gates to the hall in Old Hunstanton. Within an easy stroll of the beautiful sandy beach, famous Links golf course and a Michelin-starred restaurant, this heavenly luxury retreat is perfect for one or two couples wanting a peaceful spot, yet in easy reach of the village shop, three restaurants and two pubs.

Spacious and light, Vicarage Cottage is the very essence of Norfolk country and coastal living. With fabulously fresh interiors, the cottage sits in the middle of its south-facing garden, a delight in summer when its roses and herbaceous and perennial borders come alive. Beautifully styled throughout, and maintained to a high standard by the owners, this lovely home-from-home sleeps up to four adults and is a perfect retreat for those seeking tranquillity and relaxation. With white-washed walls, exposed oak beams, oak floors with underfloor heating, and two wood burning stoves to hunker down in front of on winter evenings, you'll adore returning 'home'.

After a busy day exploring, cook-up-a-treat in the well-equipped kitchen with its range cooker. The large dining area, complete with wood burning stove leads into a light and bright garden room with four chairs offering lovely views over the private, fully-enclosed garden. With a separate sitting room, which also features a wood burning stove, you'll find this room perfect for cosying up in. Upstairs there are two beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with a super-king size bed and one with a king-size bed, both dressed with quality bedding and linens. There is a separate shower room serving the king-size bedroom and a family bathroom next to the master bedroom which boasts a free-standing roll-top bath. In addition to the upstairs bathrooms there is also a downstairs cloakroom.

Set out on foot or bicycle and you'll discover plenty of rural and coastal paths, or of course if you want a lazy day, then just head down to Old Hunsanton beach where you can take a picnic and hunker down in the dunes and soak up the view of one of the best beaches along the North Norfolk coast. Walk westwards to Hunstanton and see the famous red cliffs or head eastwards where you'll discover Holme beach, where a few years ago 'Sea Henge' was discovered. Keen walkers will especially enjoy exploring the Le Strange estate parkland which is a few steps away from the cottage, the estate is open each Thursday - a tradition which began in medieval times to allow the locals to gather firewood. Facing west, this part of the North Norfolk coast is also famous for its stunning sunsets, so make sure you don’t miss them!

A picture-perfect property, Vicarage Cottage is the ideal romantic retreat and a perfect choice for walkers, birdwatchers, beach lovers and foodies. Once discovered, you are sure to return.
