Wren Cottage is a lovely three bedroom cottage nestled in the charming rural village of Netherbury. Wren Cottage has been tastefully updated whilst keeping the cottages charm and character, a lovely woodburning stove makes this a cosy retreat all year around.
The village is set in a picturesque valley, surrounded by rolling hills and wrapped around the river Brit. There is a tremendous community spirit in the village with the Village Hall often having activities and events. There is also an annual Village Gardens Open Event. A community playing field and playground is nearby, as well as Howards Wood which provides stunning woodland walks for people and their dogs. The village also has a stunning Church dating back to the 12th century. If you like wine, then just a few minutes drive away is Furleigh Estates Vineyards with its International Award Winning sparkling wines. You're welcome to go for a tour & tastings, so do check out their website for details. For something different if you love walking and Donkeys then combine both at Donkey Walking Adventures which takes walks around surrounding area of Netherbury, or alternatively you can walk to the coast following the river walks. Netherbury is also the location for the original River Cottage in the TV series with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, which you will see on one of the many village walks. Netherbury is situated one mile south of the picturesque market town of Beaminster, with it's independent shops including butchers, bakers, deli, cafe's and restaurants. Bridport is 5 miles and West Bay (access to the amazing Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and where Broadchurch the TV series was filmed) just 7 miles away. The Jurassic Coast is a must-visit for anyone interested in geology, history, photography or for just exploring the stunning coastal scenery along the 95-mile beautiful South West coastal footpath.
