A beautiful bijou and romantic bolt hole just perfect for two (or one), this former Holkham Estate cottage has been transformed by the owners into a delightful oasis of calm. Only 200 yards from fresh water marsh, and a little further to salt water marsh and the North Norfolk coastal path, Goldfinch Cottage is a birder's and walker's paradise. Wonderful for a 'get away from it all' type of break - this is somewhere to kick off your shoes, really relax, and enjoy listening to the sounds of nature all around you.
This charming mid terrace cottage has everything you will need for enjoying this wonderful part of North West Norfolk at any time of year. Compact in size, but well-equipped with clever use of space, the cottage is decorated and comfortably furnished in a fresh and contemporary cottage style, with an open-plan light and airy living space to the ground floor, warmed by a wood burning stove for cooler months, and a pretty bedroom with king size bed and views across the garden to the marshes and Burnham Overy Windmill beyond on the first floor.
Burnham Norton, a hamlet made up of pretty flint cottages, is tucked away down a quiet lane off the main coast road, and nestles on the edge of Norton Marsh which is rich in birds and wildlife. There are no shops or pubs in the village so just put on your boots, grab your binoculars, and stretch your legs with a forty minute walk across the fields and marshes to the deserted Norton Beach.
