The Cart Shed is an enchanting luxury self-catering barn, set in an unrivalled position in the rolling North Norfolk countryside, a stone’s throw from the beautiful sandy beaches of North Norfolk. Idyllically situated and in easy reach of the sailing facilities at Brancaster Staithe, the sandy beaches at Brancaster and Norfolk’s loveliest village, Burnham Market, this coastal retreat is unique in every way.
The Cart Shed is a beautiful mix of contemporary and eclectic, with natural chalkstone walls, generous amounts of glass, oodles of style and interesting art. Adjoining the owner’s barn, but affording total privacy, this large but very welcoming property runs the length of the private courtyard and features huge sliding glass doors which literally bring the outside in. It sleeps eight people comfortably in four ground floor bedrooms. Boasting two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cloakroom and utility room, large kitchen/diner and sitting room. Stylish contemporary country design probably best describes the effortless charm of The Cart Shed. For children there is unlimited space to roam and cycle, and probably the best located ground level trampoline in North Norfolk! With plenty of parking for four cars, a caretaker on site and vast rural views, what more could you want?
On a warm summer's evening, drink in the countryside views and watch the sun set over the fields, as the swallows dip and rise over the barn. Reflect on the day’s events while you dine alfresco in the sheltered courtyard garden, before retiring for the evening; and after a comfortable night’s slumber, wake to the sound of bird song before taking morning coffee in the courtyard, or simply start the day slowly under the hawthorn trees, watching the deer and the hares, taking in the wonderful views across the fields whilst planning your day of exploration.
Although you will find it hard to leave this exquisite place, you will be bound to want to head for the beaches. Don’t forget to pop to Burnham Market first, to pick up a picnic from Humble Pie, the village delicatessen. After a day of sunshine head back to the barn and wash the sand from between your toes, enjoying a beautiful Norfolk sunset as you bathe underneath the outside shower.
The Cart Shed is available exclusively through Norfolk Hideaways and only available for a few weeks of the year. So if you are looking for a unique hideaway and something very special this summer, then this may well be the perfect place to stay... your only regret will be wishing you'd booked longer.
